"Propeller Driven Jets and Spin-Down of Rotating Magnetized Stars"

Abstract:
We discuss axisymmetric MHD simulations of disk accretion to a rapidly rotating star with an aligned dipole magnetic field. The simulations reveal poverful disk winds and magnetically dominated collimated jets along the open field lines of the star. The star spins down rapidly under these sonditions. Futher studies have been done on the spinning down of high field pulsars (magnetars) moving supersonically through the interstellar medium.
